What is Finacea?
Finacea is a form of anti-inflammatory gel used topically on the skin to reduce pain, discomfort itching and other issues. The active ingredient of this medication is a naturally occurring form of saturated dicarboxylic acid called azelaic acid. In some cases, you may be prescribed this substance in its generic form.
Finacea can reduce the growth of a certain kind of cell on the surface of the skin called keratin cells, which often cause problems by blocking the pores. It is then impossible for sebum to escape the sebaceous glands, which causes inflammation in the form of spots and blackheads. In some cases, the active ingredient of Finacea can be useful for killing the common bacteria most associated with acne – propionebacterium acnes – which feeds on the sebum that appears on the skin caused by the sebaceous glands. When the bacteria feed, they also produce waste products and fatty acids that irritate the sebaceous glands. Finacea and azelaic acid reduce the numbers of the common bacteria on your skin by reducing the source of food (sebum). This means that the growth of the bacteria is inhibited, and they begin to die out. Usually, you will see a reduction in the inflammation in your skin shortly after using Finacea. This reduction in inflammation will also give your skin a chance to heal.
