Cialis Once a Day is used to treat adult men with erectile dysfunction (ED). It contains the active substance tadalafil which belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. This medicine works by helping the blood vessels in your penis to relax, allowing the flow of blood into your penis. This will improve your ability to get an erection. Cialis Once a Day will not help you if you do not have erectile dysfunction.

Cialis Once a Day is a treatment for erectile dysfunction for daily use and gives you the ability to achieve an erection at any time of the day. It is not an erection pill that is taken before sexual activity. This gives you the freedom to have sex when the mood strikes. Cialis Once a Day can be a very effective option for men who expect to be sexually active more than two times a week. Bear in mind that Cialis works only with sexual stimulation.

Cialis Once a Day is for oral use. Swallow one tablet a day, whole with some water. The tablets should be taken at the same time each day to avoid missing any. They can be taken with or without food.

Dosage

Your dose should be determined by a doctor. The general dosage guidelines are as follows:

• Adult men: 2.5 to 5 mg once a day.

Do not take more than once a day. This medicine is not intended for use by women and adolescents under the age of 18.

Alcohol/driving

Limit or stop drinking alcohol while taking this medicine. Alcohol may trigger or intensify the side effects. Drinking alcohol can also temporarily impair your ability to get an erection.

Cialis Once a Day may cause side effects that interfere with your ability to react. If you experience symptoms such as dizziness or blurred vision, you should avoid driving or operating machinery until these symptoms have passed.

If you use more/forget to use Cialis Once a Day

If you take more tablets than you were told to, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

If you miss a dose, do not take a double dose to make up for the forgotten one.

Cialis Once a Day is not suitable for everyone. Do not use this medicine if:

• You are allergic to tadalafil or any other ingredient in this medicine.
• You are taking any form of organic nitrate or nitric oxide donors such as amyl nitrite. This is a group of medicines (nitrates) used in the treatment of angina pectoris (chronic chest pain). Cialis Once a Day has been shown to increase the effects of these medicines. You are taking any form of nitrate or are unsure, tell your doctor.
• You have serious heart disease or have had a recent heart attack.
• You have had a recent stroke.
• You have low blood pressure or uncontrolled high blood pressure.
• You have ever had loss of vision because of nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), a condition sometimes described as 'stroke of the eye'.

When should this medicine be used with caution?

Be aware that sexual activity carries a possible risk to patients with heart disease because it puts extra strain on your heart. If you have a heart problem you should tell your doctor.

You should also talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if:

• You have sickle cell anaemia (an abnormality of red blood cells), multiple myeloma (cancer of the bone marrow), leukaemia (cancer of the blood cells) or any deformation of your penis.
• You have a serious liver problem.
• You have a serious kidney problem.

It is not known if Cialis Once a Day is effective in patients who have undergone pelvic surgery or radical non-nerve-sparing prostatectomy.

If you experience sudden decrease or loss of vision, stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor immediately.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Cialis Once a Day is not for women.

Other medicines and Cialis Once a Day

Tell your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines. This includes medicines obtained without a prescription and herbal medicines.

This is particularly important if you are treated with nitrates as you should not take Cialis Once a Day if you are taking these medicines.

A type of medicine called an alpha blocker is sometimes used to treat high blood pressure and enlarged prostate. Tell your doctor if you are being treated for either of these conditions or if you take other medicines to treat high blood pressure.

If you are taking medicines that can inhibit an enzyme called CYP3A4 (for example ketoconazole or protease inhibitors for treatment of HIV) the frequency of side effects might increase.

Do not take Cialis Once a Day with other medicines if your doctor tells you that you may not.

You should not use Cialis Once a Day together with any other treatments for erectile dysfunction.

Like all medicines, Cialis Once a Day can cause side effects, although some people may not experience any. Side effects that are known to be associated with Cialis Once a Day include:

Very common (may affect more than 1 in 10 people):

• Headache.

Common (may affect 1 to 10 in every 100 people):

• Back pain.
• Muscle ache.
• Facial flushing.
• Dizziness.
• Nasal congestion.
• Digestive problems.

Uncommon (may affect 1 to 10 in every 1,000 people):

• Skin rash.
• Stomach pain, acid reflux.
• Eye pain, blurred vision.
• Increased sweating.
• Faster than normal heartbeat (tachycardia), palpitations.
• High or low blood pressure.
• Chest pain. If you experience chest pain during or after sexual activity, do not use nitrates but seek immediate medical assistance.

Rare (may affect 1 to 10 in every 10,000 people):

• Fainting, seizures.
• Passing memory loss.
• Swelling of the eyelids, red eyes.
• Sudden decrease or loss of hearing.
• Hives (like a nettle rash).
• Nose bleed.

The active substance is tadalafil. Each tablet contains 2.5 mg tadalafil. The other ingredients are:

• Tablet core: lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, hydroxypropylcellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium laurilsulfate, magnesium stearate.
• Film coating: lactose monohydrate, hypromellose, triacetin, titanium dioxide (E171), iron oxide yellow (E172), iron oxide red (E172), talc.
